Olivier Rioux is a canadian teenager. Born the 2nd of February, 2006, he is 20 years old. He hails from Anjou, Quebec and his family is composed of tall people. His Grandfather, Jean-François Rioux is 203cm, his mother 183cm and his older brother 205. Rioux’s house have been made for tall people. Ceillings and tables are above average in heights. Only the doorframe remained unchanged and Olivier unfortunately hurted himself on them quite some time.

Olivier Rioux has been mesured at 234cm by the Canadian Basket Federation, and 231cm by the FIBA. He as been elected by the Guiness Book as the tallest teenager in the world a few years ago. He is still growing today and is 236cm tall.
When he was born, Olivier was only 50cm and weighted 3,4kg. But one month later and he was already 7,2kg. At 12, he was 208cm tall, growing up to 220cm at 13 ( Shaquille O’Neal was 180cm at this age, Yo Ming was 198cm). At 14 years old, Olivier was still growing with 218cm. His shoe size is 19,5 to this day and is the tallest teenager since last year.

Does Olivier play Basketball?
Olivier started playing Basketball at 5 years old in Anjou, Quebec. His parents oriented him towards sport because he was much more taller than the others, but for them, it was even more important that “He takes pleasures in it and sports around”. At 13, Olivier was playing with the 14-15 years old teenager from the St-Jean-Vianney collège, in the Dragons team. After some eyears in Canada, Olivier decided to go to Florida to join a program with more tool to achieve his dream to play in NBA. At 15, he was enrolled in the IMG Academy, a school that prepare future champions ( where Serena Williams and Tiger Woods hails from). In 2025, he stayed in Florida et was enroled in the Floria Gators team in 1st Universitary Division. He choosed to stay “redshirt” to stay longer in the team. That means he can train with the team for one year, but isn’t able to play official games. However, he will be able to in the next four years to come, which allows him to take time to grow so he could join NBA someday.

Thee beginning of his training wasn’t easy, as he reported :
«Being away from my family is sometime difficult, but I’m ready to give all necessary sacrifices and struggles to achieve my dream to play in NBA.»
In 2021, he participated with the canadian national team in the US tournament of under 18 years old.
If Olivier grow a few more centimeters and plays in NBA, he will be the tallest player of history, ahead of Gheorghe Muresan and Manute Bol and their 231cm. He is already taller than the actual players.
